We're the Only Ones Oath-Breaking Enough

It was a sergeant, Kenneth Becker, not some rookie, feeding him the lie. That says much. [More]

This is actually even more outrageous:

Nothing was found, of course.

We've already established the cops here are lying thugs. Just bring in a dog and pretend it signaled a hit, and there's your Fourth Amendment "workaround."

In Rodriguez vs United States the supreme Court ruled that holding someone longer than the traffic stop takes to bring a k9 unit violates the 4th amendment

Mike F,
That's all well and good as far as it goes, but the underlying problem is that "I as Joe Random Stranger do not have the authority to arrest (stop) you without reasonable suspicion that you have committed an actual crime, nor to search your person or possessions without probable cause to believe you have committed (or are just about to commit) a crime... and as such, I cannot delegate authority for the same to anyone else, be they human, canine, or faceless institution."
