UPDATE: Back from some chores.Well the story sure has changed in the past couple of hours since this posted. At the start, de Blasio and Shepard Smith were both tripping all over themselves to assure us this was not an act of terrorism. Then we find out the guns weren't real firearms and the assault weapon was a licensed and registered truck, the driver of which was overheard yelling "Allahu Akbar!" Then the mayor, police commissioner and governor gave an "our thoughts and prayers" platitude/bromide-laden "press conference" to assure us all New Yorkers are tough and there is no wider plot, even though ISIS evidently put out a call for Halloween attacks.
Still to be determined at this writing: Whether I can use the word "rigorous."

Story has apparently been updated. He didn't shoot anyone. He mowed them down with the truck: 8 dead, more than a dozen injured. He shouted "Allahu Akbar," which is leftist for, "My motive may never be known." Apparently he did have "imitation guns."

Of peripheral interest, this occurred in front of a community college, a high school and an elementary school and he hit a school bus with the truck. Witnesses say the police fired five to seven rounds, hitting the perpetrator once. With children and parents everywhere. Where did the other rounds go? Where did these cops learn to shoot?
I'm amazed how light-skinned the perp appears in this CBS photo . Looks like another case of "photo altering " to drive a phony story line just as was done by ABC on George Zimmerman . A real photo of the perp shows someone with a complexion several shades darker.
