Why Does a Dog Lick Himself?

Why is a Republican super majority in the legislature following Michael Bloomberg's agenda? [More]
Because they can.

And they will until gun owners decide to make a public example of one, even if it means giving up a seat, and letting the GOP know they consider enemies on the inside the most dangerous threats. It doesn't take too many political "executions" for poltroons to get the message, and if they won't back you out of principle, settle for them backing you out of fear.

Late RNC-honcho Lee Atwater is reputed to have asked "Who else are they [gun owners] going to vote for?" With that kind of arrogance, there's no steaming pile they can't expect you to lap up.

Oh, but the Democrat enemies are really REALLY anti-gun.

At least we know not to turn our backs on them..

Those who counsel "Politics is the art of the possible" and "The perfect is the enemy of the good" refuse to push envelopes to determine just what is possible, and evidently consider it good to be politically cuckolded.

WOW! I want to get out of this communist infested worker's paradise called Illinois and Tennessee was on the top of my list of red States to move to. After reading this, I might have to re-think my position.

We're facing just such a choice in State House District 114 here in Florida. We're having a special election to replace the representative who was jailed after lying about her residence in the past special election to replace a representative that apparently wasn't paying his Federal Income taxes.

Our 3 choices are a Republican, an Independent, and a Democrat. Normally you would consider this a clear choice until you received the flyer from the Republican which outlined his "common-sense plan for gun violence prevention." Somehow I don't think these were things he thought up on his own regardless of him saying they are "his plan" The bullet points (no pun intended) are:

Ban bump stocks and high capacity magazines.
Create a mandatory waiting period.
Increase funding for school security.
Support mental health initiatives.

Where have we heard those before?

Anyway, who needs Democrats when your Republicans run on a Democrat platform?

I've had 3 young men come by campaigning for this guy and I told them I wouldn't vote for him on a bet. I asked them which would hurt more, being stabbed in the chest by a known enemy, or in the back by a supposed friend?

IMHO, gun owners are to the Republicans as African Americans are to Democrats. If we actually forced the parties to work for our loyalty this whole country would be better off.

I do think this establishes good evidence of a state law to ban outside influence of state-level elections.

Why we sing the Marseillaise:

"...despite vicious interrogation, no one betrayed The SAS."
"The punishment was deportation to concentration camps, including Auschwitz and Dachau."

Here's the story:

My U.S. congressman is running for governor here in Florida, if he is elected that's good for Florida, but might leave me with a dilemma: Who to elect to replace him.

Both my State Senator as well as my Representative voted for the so-called school safety bill in FL. Both are "R's" supposedly! While the bill passed has some merit raising the age to 21 to buy a long gun as well as a three day wait period frosts my butt. It doesn't affect me I'm way passed 21 and have a CWL. Marion Hammer called this a betrayal to gun owners by the FL Republicans, who because of one vote the bill passed out of committee.

Oh and our Governor also a Republican signed it, and he's running for the U.S. Senate, against Liberal antigun Bill Nelson. He would be an improvement, but how much of one is hard to calculate.
