This is as offensive and unconstitutional as the NRA’s Project Exile which promotes the enforcement of unconstitutional federal gun laws when state and local authorities make an arrest over which involves a firearm. It worked like this: A police officer arrests a suspect carrying a gun. He asks the suspect the questions on the card. If the suspect answers “yes”--bang--he’s nailed on a federal gun crime. Conviction meant a mandatory five years in federal prison. No questions asked.
In a regional breakdown of potential terrorist threats, the report notes that Hampton Roads and the Richmond area each have two historically black universities. Although it doesn't cite them by name, the apparent reference is to Norfolk State University, Hampton University, Virginia State University in Petersburg and Virginia Union University in Richmond.

Disappointing, considering when they last ran for office, Hatch received an A+ grade from NRA and Martinez was given an A. But aside from a letter criticizing Holder for, among other things, not being a strong enough proponent of federal "Project Exile" gun control provisions, the Association has declined to mobilize its membership to oppose Holder's confirmation, and has even gone one further step, according to RedState.com:My advice is to keep swinging. The same conclusion was reached in 2003 by the US Centers for Disease Control …”and along come the Lairds of Fairfax to cut off criticism by cutting our legs out from under us with a little last-minute (blundering or sabotage?) under the guise of getting involved.
Convicted felons caught carrying firearms would face the prospect of federal prosecutions and long sentences in distant federal prisons.Because if there's one thing the feds and locals haven't tried, it's "Project Exile."
