Cody Wilson Arrested

Cody Wilson, a leading proponent of 3-D printed guns, has been arrested in Taiwan after being charged in Texas with sexually assaulting a 16-year old girl there, Taiwanese officials said on Friday. [More]

What I don't see is the Taiwanese charge -- since there's "no extradition treaty in force" and he's been "delivered ... to the National Immigration Agency," will they deport him on a rescinded visa rap or what?

UPDATE (Translated from Chinese):

The Immigration Department pointed out that the American 3D printing gun godfather Wilson, who is suspected of sexually assaulting a girl, has been deregistered from the United States because of his passport has been cancelled. The police can arrest and send it to the police. The Immigration Department will temporarily hold the lien, which will be handled in accordance with the bilateral consultation mechanism and China's decree. Will be deported and will be taken over by the United States.

Isn't This Just Too Convenient...

Cody Wilson, an Austin man whose fight over 3D-printed guns thrust him into the national spotlight, faces a charge of sexual assault, according to an arrest affidavit filed in Travis County district court on Wednesday. [More]

Without conceding that anything happened as described, absent from this is any information that he had reason to believe she was underage. This smells like a premeditated set-up to destroy the man and discredit supporters of his idea.

I have no idea what the SugarDaddyMeet website requires to open an account (and I'm not going to go there to find out), but I'd be surprised if they don't have some sort of requirement to state you are of age before allowing an account to be opened. [SEE UPDATE] It's also telling that he will now be ruthlessly attacked and Alinsky Rule 5-ridiculed by the same people out there calling you a hater if you don't embrace "Love is Love."

Naturally, the questions I'm most interested in aren't addressed in the "news" account: Did someone arrange for the girl to set Wilson up? Who? And what criminal liability would they share?

I'd also like to know who she is so her social media posts could be checked to determine affiliations. This business of destroying his reputation while  protecting the identity and sympathies of the accuser trying to do it smacks of "progressive justice."

Wilson missed a scheduled flight back to the United States and is thought to have left the country after a friend of the 16-year-old sexual assault victim told him that police were investigating him, Officer said.

That certainly makes things problematic for him. And this makes things problematic for the "authorities":

There is no extradition treaty in force between Taiwan and the United States.

Random Thoughts in 3D

As the Cody Wilson story continues to unfold, some additional thoughts are in order because it's human nature to want to understand developments that affect us.  Since the guy achieved deserved celebrity status for his contributions to RKBA, what's happening now tangentially affects all of us.

On a personal note, I have always found prostitution to be demeaning to both parties. But don't think it should be a crime between adults. Still, it's tough to face that people we admire for their achievements might have feet of clay in other matters.

They still don't have hard evidence -- no pun intended -- besides her word against his that he actually had sex with her, but I believe it's pretty obvious he had means, motive and opportunity. That is one screwed up (literally and figuratively) girl, and I put a lot of that on hypocritical "progressive" sexualization of the young via media, what is taught in schools, and the calculated sabotage of the institution of marriage. 

I still smell set-up, but he's the one that apparently took the bait. He's got to be feeling like a trapped animal at this point. I wonder if he is thinking of holding out because there is no extradition treaty with Taiwan.

People who are prominent in the movement have a special obligation to not lead dark double lives because it reflects on everyone that supported their efforts.
