Don't Uncork the Champagne Just Yet

Rittenhouse Trial Day 3: State’s Own Witnesses Damage Prosecution, Reinforce Self-Defense Narrative - The prosecution’s narrative of guilt looks profoundly weaker, and the defense narrative of self-defense looks profoundly stronger, than was the case yesterday. [More]

I would be optimistic if I believed the goal of the state and the media was justice and that "peers" weren't selected for perceived manipulability.

Las Vegas killing reports leave Facebook and YouTube trail -- for now

There’s much that does not add up to the narrative portrayal being formed, and there will be time as the story unravels to determine what is factual and what has been “leaping to illusions.” Perhaps following these links will provide clues to help with that. [More]
Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report notes trails are still available for us to follow. You might want to see what’s on them for yourself before they get covered up--that is, unless you trust the media to give a straight narrative unaffected by any agenda.

We are Controlling Transmission.

We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We will control the color narrative. [More]

I've noticed a similar form of narrative-shaping at Examiner.com with the available selection of Getty Images photos we are licensed to select from for the Baltimore riots -- there haven't been many noticeable active violence and looting photos to choose from, but plenty of pictures that include white protesters, plenty of pictures of cops in riot gear, plenty of pictures of politicians speaking, and plenty of pictures of residents cleaning up the damage.

A Nation of Immigrants

The media narrative today is that America has become “xenophobic” and is turning its back on new immigrants. But that narrative is sharply contradicted by the fact that the United States maintains the most generous immigration policies in the world. In this week’s new video, CRTV host and best-selling author Michelle Malkin explains how ill-conceived immigration policies threaten to destroy the American Dream for everyone. [View]

Milwaukee Brewery Killings Highlight How Suppressed Information Enables Infringement

By hiding his identity until they’ve got their ducks lined up, and by ensuring his internet tracks have been swept to only release information supportive of the narrative being told by “the authorities,” our ability to glean public interest information, which is needed to be informed, self-governing citizens, is diminished and effectively deprived.  If our only source of that information is the government, disseminated and amplified through its media mouthpieces, our system becomes no more credible or any less manipulative and tyrannical than China’s or Iran’s. [More]
No "right-wing white nationalist", no "assault weapon," a "gun-free zone"... looks like this story's going to need to be downplayed until some low-hanging fruit who better fits the narrative can be inspired by a provocateur...

The Alterable Past

The speed and shamelessness with which the narrative shift happened are breathtaking, and it can only mean one thing. The internal polling for Democrats in the midterms is beyond dismal, and areas assumed to be safely in the “D” column are at risk. We mustn’t let them get away with the rewrite of history they are attempting. [More]

Kind of like the way they're desperately trying to change the narrative from "soft on crime" to "it's the guns' fault."

There's an Orwell quote in here somewhere...

Mission Accomplished!

Based on this narrative, Apple and Google removed Parler from their app stores and Amazon removed Parler’s internet hosting. Yet on Thursday, Parler flipped the narrative on its head. [More]

That doesn't matter. All most people will remember are the charges and voices they'd rather not be heard have been stifled, which was the goal.

SPLC Predicts 'More Violence' Because Republicans Don't Buy the Left's Narrative on the Capitol Riot [More]

That's hardly the only gaslighting narrative. Curious, the lack of uprising if "we" were truly inclined to violence as a first resort...

Me, I wonder how many Republicans are planning on torching a cop car and looting a Target the second a "Not Guilty" verdict comes in for Chauvin... Or is that fact that none will further proof of their irredeemable racism?

There Goes the Narrative

The man busted for the attack on an Asian woman in Midtown was out on parole for killing his own mother back in 2002, authorities said. [More]

We touched briefly on this yesterday.

He can't be trusted with feet? I wonder what he did to convince everyone he could be trusted without a custodian...?

And I trust everyone caught the picture of the perp?

But...but...but narrative...

Survey SAYS...

More than 6 in 10 Americans oppose legislation that would prohibit classroom lessons about sexual orientation or gender identity in elementary school, a new ABC News/Ipsos poll finds. [More]
Funny, they don't tell us what the questions were except for:
Questions 1 to 4 held for later release.
5. On another topic, would you support or oppose legislation that would prohibit classroom lessons about sexual orientation or gender identity in elementary school?
That's not very specific and says nothing about what kind of "lessons." Just give 'em carte blanche?

So it's not clear if respondents know about abuses and agendas that prompted fed-up parents to say "Enough!" Especially since search terms that you'd think would return plenty of examples instead overwhelmingly focus on how Christians are evil homophobic bullies. Any suggestion of indoctrination is met with Alinsky Rule 5 ridicule and the same "baseless" dismissal we see for evidence of 2020 election cheating or challenges to the official COVID narrative.

Speaking of parents, they don't tell us how many respondents are. Instead, if a small fraction of readers influenced by the headline read all the way down to the fine print at the bottom of the article, click on the "See the poll’s topline results and details on the methodology here" link and scroll to the second page, they'll find:
This poll is based on a nationally representative probability sample of 622 adults age 18 or older, with an oversample among LGBTQ+ respondents.
Sure sounds like "6 in 10 Americans" to me! What is it about media ethics in statistical reporting or lack thereof?

Note that the phrase "Don't say gay" appears four times on the article page, ignoring the fact that that's not what the Florida bill does or says. And finally, note that most reading this will not put together the connection between this "report" and the financial interests of ABC's owner.

Oh, and look: Yahoo! News picked it up. It looks like it's going viral. as a narrative talking point.

I've been demonstrably wrong about one thing: I generally end such posts by observing that in a few years anyone against this will be branded a hater. It won't be a few years.

Dashed Hopes

MSNBC erroneously reported that Capitol attack suspect was a ‘White male’ [More]

This is my shocked face.

Curious, how Facebook also didn't want anyone to grok reality.

Hey, is it too late to change the narrative to he wouldn't have done it in the first place if white people weren't all racists?

UPDATE - Well, here's a narrative change I didn't anticipate:

Ilhan Omar tries to make car and knife attack at the U.S. Capitol about AR-15s

Which "ourselves and our Posterity" interests did it serve to welcome her from hellhole Somalia to attack the "Blessings of Liberty" here again...?

Blast from the Past

I was researching something completely different this morning and came across this photo of Sarah Brady at my neighborhood park from when I was still living in SoCal. I realized this was where and when I was threatened by an "Only One" for presuming to ask a question without "legitimate credentials," giving eventual birth to the term "Authorized Journalists."

Nice unsecured guns by the "common sense gun safety" folks, eh? Oh well, I suppose if someone had been foolish enough to do a snatch and grab, there were plenty of legitimate credentials ready to open fire in the crowd.

Those who would disarm us demand to control everything, even a citizen asking a question of a public figure at a public event at a public place. And they'll use the force of the state to bend us to their will. It's the "progressive" way.

Things could have gone differently, had the man in the suit been a bit dumber and more kneejerk violence-prone, at which point, he'd have had a full continuum of force at his disposal. Naturally, when an indignant hive insect who witnessed the official intimidation attempt wrote a letter to the local paper, his beef was with gun activists "self-righteously cloaking themselves in the First Amendment," or some such language.

Want a quick example of what would happen if citizens didn't so "cloak themselves," and left everything to the "official" narrative spinners?

Realizing that the only job a guy like me could ever hope to get with a "real" newspaper would be delivering them, here's how my hometown paper imposed its ignorance on its readership over Operation Fast and Furious. Here's my response, which is confined to a niche readership, ensuring the record wouldn't be corrected for those exposed only to parroted talking points.

Who are you going to believe, the Democratic Party’s new official-unofficial, public-private monopoly tech platform censorship brigade, or your misinformed, disinformed eyes? [More]

We know whose narrative the DSM parrots.

If the Republicans do manage to regain legislative majorities followed by the White House, who has confidence they will vigorously pursue the election stealing conspiracy angle on this by subpoenaing communications and testimony and making sure the FEC is headed by someone other than a Democrat operative?

Which leads us to another "WTF, Trump?" moment...

Yes, but the Buddhist by choice was adopted and therefore not raised Muslim, plus the law at the time discouraged his unmarried Catholic biological mother from "choosing" to scrape him out.  But hey, Huff-Po, it's your narrative, so please do go on.
