Coalition sends open letter opposing gun ban to Congress

“Members of the National Coalition to Stop the Gun Ban demand that Congress refuse to use lawful gun owners as political scapegoats and instead reduce school violence by defeating any attempt to pass gun control including, but not limited to, banning semi-automatic firearms or magazines, or requiring private gun transfers to be registered through the National Instant Check System; and repealing the Gun Free School Zones Act of 1996,” the letter states. This evening's Gun Rights Examiner report spotlights a coalition standing fast against compromise, and notes a conspicuous absence.

Magazine Ban 2013?

I just got sent the link to this video. [Watch]

What is the bill number? THOMAS is not listing anything sponsored by DeGette.

I see other news sources are reporting on this, so I'm going to assume it's legit, but If we're going to spring into action, let's take a moment to check this out first, see who is on board, how big of a threat it really is, and coordinate things a bit, even if time is of the essence.

I guess pointing out that there are already laws out the ying-yang saying "criminals" can't have them and can't use them to commit crimes would be a waste of everyone's time...? [Read

By Way of Comparison

To show the extreme levels of gun buying here's a point to ponder: Total WWII wartime production of the M-1 Garand, the American military's primary battle rifle of the era, was just over 4 million. [More]

But we can relax, because he got an NRA endorsement with this stirring leadership testimonial:

We're the Only Ones Grand Slammed Enough

According to news reports, five plain-clothes detectives were enjoying a meal in the restaurant when a customer noticed one of them carrying a gun. Reports say that all of them were also wearing badges either on their belt or around their neck. A manager approached the group and told them that they would have to take their guns back to their cars, as it was “company policy” to allow only uniformed officers to carry firearms, and the business was clearly posted as such. Outrageous, treating them like other customers! Especially since Denny's is doing a Hobbit movie-themed promotion right now, and they were all wearing their magic talismans. So they got their Moons over My Hammy out of there...

EXCLUSIVE: Feeding Frenzy

Meanwhile, a Gannett newspaper in New York published an interactive map with the addresses of gun permit holders, and another of their papers in Iowa published an editorial calling for repeal of the Second Amendment, declaring the NRA a terrorist organization, making ownership of semi-autos a felony, and killing gun owners who refused to give theirs up. Really. [More]
