“So the question is how is this not a registration bill?” OFF asked. [More]Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report notes “progressive” gun-grabbers doing what they do best.

MAIG removes members list from website after Bloomberg embarrassment exposed
The roster was present on the site on Saturday, when this column pointed out hostility between the former mayor and his replacement (a screenshot was included to show the segment of the New York roster still featuring Bloomberg), and by Monday, the first workday after that column was published, the drop down menu to identify members by state and city had disappeared from the coalition page. [More]Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report notes a mysterious disappearance and asks: Could Bloomberg’s detestability be his Achilles Heel with other anti-gunners? And is de Blasio going to join MAIG or not?
Duck Season
David J. Theroux has a two-parter over at patheos:
He makes good points to show the utter intolerance and hypocrisy of the hive-minded.
Remember, with "Progressives," every day is opposite day, as the spittle-flecked rage from those demanding banishment proved. Just ask the same crowd about the "Hollywood Blacklist," and watch 'em get all self-righteous and bombastic.

You never watched "Tropic Thunder," did you?
Funny, that clip mentions Sean Penn.
UPDATE: HiCarry tells me Machete is even more clear-cut as a violator than Spicoli. As for the conclusion about Pokey-Poke at that link, sorry, but the USC pretty clearly says "one year."

That's Some Courtship
Republican gubernatorial contender Tom Foley told the state’s largest gun group Tuesday night that he would block further gun-control legislation if elected, but he has no plans to seek repeal of the sweeping changes to the state’s gun laws approved last year in the wake of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School. [More]Anybody desperate enough to fall for this line of crap?
And naturally, the Democrats call this "pandering to the NRA."
Overwhelming
Cheers and applause broke out behind the closed doors of the House Appropriations Committee Wednesday after the House passed a 12-part omnibus spending bill by a vote of 359-67, with an overwhelming majority vote from both parties. [More]With over a billion dollars for BATFU...
Thanks, "both parties"!

Not that most women there can afford either option...

Mississippi introduces protection against gun confiscation bill
“Nothing in this section or in any other statute shall be construed to confer upon the Governor or any official or employee of any department, agency or political subdivision of the state the power to: Confiscate or seize a firearm, ammunition, or components of firearms or ammunition from a person who is in lawful possession of such firearm, ammunition, or components of ammunition; or Impose additional restrictions as to the lawful possession, transfer, sale, carrying, storage, display or use of firearms, ammunition, or components of firearms or ammunition.” [More]This evening’s Gun Rights Examiner report notes a positive move in the Magnolia State. And I note the curiosity that the only news report on this legislative development at this writing originates in the Buckeye State.
