Faith and Fidelity

“I am a Clergyman it is true, but I am a member of the Society as well as the poorest Layman, and my Liberty is as dear to me as any man, shall I then sit still and enjoy myself at Home when the best Blood of the Continent is spilling?...so far am I from thinking that I act wrong, I am convinced it is my duty to do so and duty I owe to God and my country.” -- Peter Muhlenberg, Pastor, Colonel of Virginia militia, 1775 and later Major General, Continental Army. [More]
Gee, he wouldn't have fit in very well with these "faith community" groups, would he? ("Progressives." Opposite Day.)

The Long Game and the Struggle for Liberty: Part Two

Mike notes ghostly echoes of history, and a power of deterrence that has not gone unnoticed by those whose lusts are yet checked by it. [More]

If you missed Part One, you may want to read it first.

I hope you join me in sharing this.

School denying permission for anti-gun PSA raises legal questions

With that being the case, if no one gave Sincic permission to bring a firearm or imitation firearm (as the one in the video may be) onto school property, it's presence becomes a legitimate matter for public and legal inquiry. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report actually agrees with an anti-gunner and encourages everyone who is not a coward to share! It also notes it sure would be nice if these people demanding new laws would exhibit an understanding of those that already exist -- maybe by not breaking them in front of everybody...

A New York State of Mind

In light of recent developments nationwide since events in Ferguson and agitation from race profiteers began ginning violent anti-police sentiment in urban areas nationwide, it might be prudent to anticipate what it would take to precipitate a nose dive in high-level policing. It’s not hard to conceive of situations becoming so dangerous that those who wear uniforms will think twice about responding in certain areas, leaving citizens in those neighborhoods on their own. [More]
My latest JPFO Alert notes sometimes, all we can do is watch people face the inevitable consequences of their own choices -- that and make sure we don't succumb to the same...

Two from Workman

We're the Only Ones Lucrative Enough

The key is diversification.  [More]

That and the ability to use deadly force to back up their demands.

This Ought to Keep You Up at Night

How some gun owners can still sleep through this nightmarish stuff is beyond me. [More]

Resolution: Take a New Friend Shooting

As long as they maintain their stated intent, who could object? [More]

Certainly not me.

I'm Walkin' on Sunshine

Huh? What did I do? I've never even heard of this person. I guess this?
Well not from me you haven't.  Funny how there's not even one example included. So what's with this person?

Well now, doesn't that just explain everything?  No Opposite Day "progressivism" going on there. Kind'a makes the "1 follower" understandable.

Thing is, this led to an even bigger loon, if you can believe it:
Or not:
These people are insane.

We're the Only Ones Hard to Feel Sorry for Enough

Your garbage man has a risk of death twice that of a cop. [More]
I'll bet he wants to make it home at the end of his shift, too.

A Fragmentation of Their Imagination

Authorities told CBS Los Angeles the are attempting to discover where the grenade came from and who its owner might be. [More]
But where to even begin looking...?

Following Dots

Who are the Pasadena embezzlement suspects Danny Wooten, Melody Jenkins, Tyrone Collins? [More]
Just on a hunch, I thought I'd try to find  out if they're part of the "blame guns" crowd. The connection is tenuous, but led to something I thought had relevance.

The main suspect is "a senior pastor at the New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church in Pomona," and they in turn were part of a larger "Stop the Violence" rally.  The link they provided went to a video of the event, where a grieving mother told the reporter "This is my baby. They took her life and it wasn't fair."

This was her baby:

She "was shot and killed by police after she allegedly pulled a gun on a gang task force."

Somehow, relying on "the community coming together" seems a bit inadequate in this case. And I can't help but notice the shooting evidently qualified in the tabulation of "Gun Violence After Newtown" claims.

We're the Only Ones Choking You Up Enough

Police Officer Mirjan Lolja, 37 was suspended after he allegedly attacked the 28-year-old transit employee on a Bronx subway platform by putting her in a bear hug, throwing her to the ground and choking her. [More]
Well hell, it's not like this is a time when NYPD needs all the friends it can get...

Besides, how bad could it have been with the guy disappearing as he grins like the Cheshire Cat?

This Day in History: January 2

Last evening Capt. Lieut: Kirkpatrick and myself were taken under Guard and confined to my tent, this we understand is by order of Major General Knox—Captain Bushnell of the Corps to which we belong gives us not even the disposal of our Baggage—How much the feelings of two Men who have served with reputation as Officers six years in the Army under your Excellencys Command are injured cannot be discribed—to be thus insulted and have our dignity trampled upon is to be wretched indeed. We will not trouble your Excellency at this time with an account why we are treated so unprecedented and singularly, this from prisoners is never so well received. [More]

Sons of Liberty

It'll be interesting to see what they do with this.

We're the Only Ones Picturing Enough

A deputy sheriff in the Columbia County Sheriff's Office was arrested Tuesday after allegedly taking nude photographs of a woman without her knowledge and posting them on the Internet. [More]
I like the way the sheriff characterizes this guy creeping, peeping, snapping and posting as "bad judgement" and "unfortunate," and then insists it's not a reflection on his office.

We're the Only Ones Two-Timing Enough

A Georgia police chief called 911 early on New Year's Day to report he had accidentally shot his wife twice... [More]
Talk about doing a double-take...
