When Kim Kardashian tweets out a call for gun control, it reaches 52.3 million followers. The NRA has 444,000 followers. [More]Yes, a stepped up presence is needed, but I doubt Fairfax stodginess would know how to direct a campaign. And I disagree with the presumptuous rhetoric that "if the NRA doesn’t start figuring out how to increase their reach to match that of Hollywood, then we could find ourselves losing our gun rights."
Hutchison may lose his rights (and based on a self-imposed blindness I've seen before, he very well may), but some of us will not go gentle into that good night. Factor out all Kardashian followers not willing to exert that level of commitment and the odds don't seem so bad.
