Feelings, Nothing More than Feelings

As the ninnies who bleat for government destruction of our rights have consistently demonstrated, it’s not about results. Commentator Martha Blume, in Chesapeake’s Bay Weekly calls for a Constitutional amendment: “The right of the people to feel safe from gun violence in their homes, neighborhoods, schools, places of worship, employment, on the streets and in any other public places shall not be infringed.”

Like the love song says, it’s about “Feelings, nothing more than feelings ... ”

My Rights Watch column for the May issue of GUNS Magazine is now online.

She didn't REALLY mangle the 2A that way, did she? That's appalling!

Heh, people don't have a right to feel a certain way, they feel as they do involuntarily, or if they feel bad about something, they need to get their hands dirty to fix it. If I feel unsafe, I do something to change why I feel that way, including making sure my guns are at hand. I know it's been said before, but I'll say it again, the solution to the gun crime problem is greater enforcement of existing weapons laws (the few laws that actually make sense in the real world), getting rid of ineffective laws and making it easier for innocent people to buy guns while keeping up on preventing criminals from buying guns through legal means. Instead of trying to disarm the bad guys, re-arm the good guys (we the people).
