"Rest Assured...

...NRA is monitoring this situation very closely and will address any activity by the government that unduly infringes upon the rights of lawful gun owners at the appropriate time."

Somehow I don't feel very assured.

And now is not the time to rest.

What more needs to be monitored? Confiscations are happening. They don't think that "unduly infringes"?

How could there be a more appropriate time than now?

This should demonstrate, for all to see, that the NRA has become almost totally worthless for defending our gun rights. Support GOA or JPFO instead.

I have read the NRA-ILA statement and if I were not already convinced of LaPierre's complicity in gun bans and citizen disarmament this would have done it.

The statement was the most evasive cowardly pap they could possibly have issued. It leaves no doubt where they stand, squarely with government, no matter where government stands or which level of it is trying to abuse gunowners. NRA is trying to tread the minefield between not irritating their political contacts and not losing membership money and donations. That policy requires their betrayal of their membership and the country.

Of course, I have said this ever since I dropped my membership. I can surrender my citizenship all by myself, I don't need to pay the NRA to do it for me.

They should go commit a physical impossibility.
