Yeah, you did see how many of the votes he received in SC were actual Republican votes, right? 30 percent. This tells me he either speaks the Democrat language and they love him, or they're trying to disgust the conservatives so much, they'll either stay home on Election Day or vote third party, giving Hildebeest the presidency.

McCain was communized by the North Vietnamese during his long stay with them. With his "gun show loophole" ban, his McCain-Feingold political speech ban, and his vote for the Clinton AW ban, he's shown as much support for freedom as Ho Chi Minh did.
I'm a former Navy man myself, but I wouldn't vote for John McCain if he were the last freedom-hating communist on the planet.
If gun owners vote for an anti-gun candidate, they will be to blame for "giving our guns to government" more than a vote for Ron Paul is to blame for "giving the election to Hitlary".

Whether he gets the nomination or not, I intend to vote for Fred in November. I may be "throwing away" my vote, but I will be sending a message.
McCain has too many years as a Naval officer and a Senator, and, as much as he tries to disguise and deny it, is an elitist to the core. That is why he tends to favor things like gun control. His attitude - that the great unwashed shouldn't have guns because they can't be trusted with them, except when under the direct control of the elites, doing something useful, like protecting said elites - is very understandable, given his background, training and experience. I understand it, but I don't give him a pass on it.
There is no such thing as "throwing away your vote." A vote for the "lesser evil" is a vote for those ideals they have that you disagree with.
Vote your ideals.

Heck David, if Dr. Paul does not get the nomination I'm gonna skip the middleman and vote directly for Hillary (or whatever Democrat they nominate).
Now before you blow a gasket, hear me out, there is a method to my madness.
First, if Hillobamwards were to propose a 'renewal' of the AWB, I believe that we could count on a strongly united GOP effort to scuttle it.
However if McGiuiliomney were to propose the same thing, most of the GOP would bend and spread like the panting little whores they are (no offense intended to those honorable members of the oldest profession).
Second, think of what is needed for an alcoholic to seek help: they need to hit rock bottom.
Absent a Ron Paul presidency I do not believe that this country will be able to return to the Founder's dream of a limited government with maximum individual liberty until it has descended into banana republic-like squalor of social, civil and fiscal collapse, and I can think of nothing more likely to hasten that collapse and glorious rebirth than 4 or 8 years of a Dem White House.
Oh, don't be so hard on McCain--if Sylvester "the 2nd Amendment has to be stopped" Stallone endorses him, he can't be all bad.

You know, back in April, this gave me some hope for McCain:
"I strongly support the Second Amendment and I believe the Second Amendment ought to be preserved — which means no gun control," McCain said.
Then, I sobered up and came crashing back to reality.
