Dale ran back to his own house, got a shotgun and tossed it to Robert. Now the two friends made a plan. They would trap the man inside the garage so he couldn’t get back into the house, where Robert’s kids might still be. They’d hold him until police arrived.And it worked. The incident was resolved without anyone getting seriously injured or killed.

RD. It has long been a monument to mediocrity and stupidity. It also serves as a platform for liberals, marxists,and bureaucrats of every stripe, free and encouraged to engage in their flights of fancy, all at the expense of the Republic. I wonder if they are aware that a .357 Magnum can penetrate four copies of their bile, in a single shot? I never suscribed, but relatives have deigned to hand me copies at times. They don't now, to avoid vernacular responses.
This story should have ended on page 4:
"Robert felt his wife tap him on the leg, and he understood. She was on board with their agreement. It was time. Robert slipped his hand under the pillow, retrieved their EAA Witness .40 from its holster and carefully took it off safe. He knew it was loaded because every night he double-checked it before putting it under the pillow. He sat up in bed and as Ana took the baby and ran out the door he raised the weapon and fired at the center of the man silouhetted in the window, continuing until the man dropped the shotgun and crumpled in a heap. Robert grabbed his spare mag and approached the druggie just closely enough to kick the shotgun under the bed. He then backed up and working by feel alone, made clumsy by the spare mag he was still clutching, managed to turn on the bedside lamp. As he sat on the bed he saw that the slide was not locked back, so he performed a tactical reload and called 9-1-1, explaining that he had shot an intruder. By the time the police arrived Dean Miller was dead, shot 11 times by a brave young man who defended his family with the safest tool available.

Proper 911 procedure should be to tell the dispatcher that an intruder has been shot ... not say that he shot an intruder.
Don't do a rabid prosecutor's work for him.

"I was afraid for my life, I want to help, I want to see my lawyer."
