Where There's a Will...

Police are receiving an urgent warning: be on the lookout for an old-style gun that's apparently making a comeback on the streets.

...And what's even scarier – the gun can apparently be made at home.
I trust we'll be able to do an NICS check on all these folks...?

Here are the key phrases in the article:

"And what's even scarier..."

"The Cincinnati police department says so far they haven't come across any, but they know they could be out there."

This is nothing but FUD - fear, uncertainty, and doubt, pushed on the people in order to make them trust the government to keep them safe.

This is not the behavior of civilized people. This is nothing more than another link in the long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object - our enslavement to government.

You beat me to it Matt. Fear mongering reported as news.

I guess if they give the unwashed masses enough to fear, the unwashed masses will demand something be done about "it".

What the tyrants see as bad news, I see as a hopeful sign. To ban guns they will have to kill everyone who understands physics, chemistry, tooling, and everyone who has the desire to protect themselves.

The intelligence section obviously isn't. This is like telling corrections officers to be on the lookout for shivs or paper crossbows.

OK, I believe they're lumping zip guns and AOWs in the same category. I don't think they're the same.

For that matter, you could make one LEGALLY by filling out the paperwork, just like you can make a suppressor LEGALLY by doing the same thing.

The only thing that will come of this is an attempt to pass more gun laws to target the people who aren't breaking the law...criminals will continue to make zip guns honest people will be targeted.

This should be leapt upon with great glee by gun rights advocates. It proves what we have said all along. You can't disarm criminals. Anyone with a desire to go armed can, with no special skills, make his own firearm.

We should shout it loudly and long that what they are saying proves our point that disarmament laws provide no benefit to anyone except the criminal. And it is the disarmers saying it.

We should demand they be questioned that why in spite of their come to Jesus moment, they still push helplessness as a security measure.
