Aw hell, who am I kidding, the only people who seem to get worked up and do anything about it are minorities. When was the last time you saw a ton of people marching on anything after one of these stories?

I've read three other articles that report similar facts, but to be fair, all used information sourced from the AP.
It appears that:
* Father chased his daughter's boyfriend off their property (with an axe) in 2005. It's unclear how one could be both a felon, but not successfully convicted of a felony; read the story and see what I mean.
* A Judge "ordered" the home- er, is "invasion" too strong a word? At any rate, the judge "ordered" something, despite the fact that it wasn't something within his/her power to order, like ordering someone who has been charged with a crime to appear before the court with counsel.
* Social services seems to think they had no choice but to enforce a law immediately, regardless of due process or protected rights. (I haven't read the law in question, so it could either be misinterpreted or just plain unconstitutional.)
* The story suggests that the police were told they were not welcome on the property, but instead of leaving, they broke into the house and took a child. The story also suggests that no warrant was issued or presented.
I can't believe this story is true. Or maybe I just don't want to believe.

This is bigger then this.
Both sides just love punishment and only look for an excuse be it a court order or violation of rights. It's really two sides of the same coin. It's the American way.

It has to self combust. After the war the new generation will have to learn again to respect each other.

This is a pretty chilling story. In Illinois, if you resisted an arrest that you knew to be unlawful you would be in trouble. So it seems that even if you prevailed in court against the ninja-goons and their masters on the original home invasion, they would still have a trump card over you ... bam! You still get to go to jail:
(720 ILCS 5/7‑7) (from Ch. 38, par. 7‑7)
Sec. 7‑7. Private person's use of force in resisting arrest. A person is not authorized to use force to resist an arrest which he knows is being made either by a peace officer or by a private person summoned and directed by a peace officer to make the arrest, even if he believes that the arrest is unlawful and the arrest in fact is unlawful.

Anon, I don't love punishment and human nature doesn't change with new generations. People do things when they perceive a benefit. They stop doing them when the costs of those benefits become too high.

Well, I did'nt post yesterday on this as I was to upset too not write something that might be deleted. This action by all the authorities involved is unconscionable. This is the exact reason Wayne and several others started the Militia of Washington County, Arkansas. Unfortunately, this scenario is all too real, and harkens directly to Waco, Ruby Ridge and several other ugly events in the last 20 years.
Unfortunately, (and I believe it is unavoidable) we are going to have a shooting war. We are already involved in a war, the real shooting just hasn't begun yet.
