Breaking News: Twin Falls URA to Buy Red's Property

The Twin Falls Urban Renewal Agency agreed today to pay $200,000 for downtown property where Red's Trading Post at 215 Shoshone St. S...

The closing is expected around July 15, according to a copy of the contract.

Don't jump to conclusions. While the terms of the settled agreement are still pending public announcement, do not assume this means the business of Red's Trading Post will close.

The plan is for a better and more modern facility, and the downtime will be used to effect the move.

Stay tuned.

you won't fault me too seriously will you if I reserve conclusions until I see how deep the penetration is?

I wasn't born this cynical, it's training.

I am the only optimistic cynic I know. I hope you are right and it all works out well.

On the bright side, it should help offset some of the legal fees...

The ABRUPT silence, from the formerly vocal Ryan Horsely has been deafening, the last month. It's hard not to view this muzzling of a talented, rising star in the gun rights landscape, as an ominous sign, with free speech implications. He really has so much to offer, politically speaking.

While we all hope success for Red's Trading Post in the future; maybe the silencing is only temporary, on advice from lawyers until the settlement is worked out.

Please don't abandon the cause you had so bravely started, Ryan!

Wow. I asked if anyone had any news. This isn't what I was expecting.

I'm not overly concerned with the silence on Ryan's part. At this stage of the proceedings, I assume there's a gag order in place, or else he's just operating from common sense. I wouldn't be exactly standing on my roof with a bullhorn either. I'm wondering whether the details of the settlement will be sealed, once the judge approves it.

Chuck, I expect that acquisition of a new property (unless they already have someplace to move to) plus moving expenses will do a good job of eating into that $200,000.

I have an odd speculation about what might be going on behind the scenes, but I'll keep it to myself.

I've been wondering what had happened since the Red's blog went offline a while back. I've refrained (and will continue doing so) from speculating in public, but I will say I'm very concerned. This doesn't strike me as a good development.
