Sock it to Me
Good grief.
Nobody thought there'd be consequences?
I see they're out of stock. I wonder if that means they're withdrawing the product? Which means wait a bit and look to eBay...
I also wonder how long this link will work...

I have no choice. I have to post this to DailyKos. It's too much for me to pass up.
I'll keep your name the hell away from this, natch.
There was an article the other day. White people in Appalachia, on questionnaires in polls at their state primaries, said they don't object to Obama because he's black but because of his socialist ideology.
Too bad that, unlike people in Chicago and Detroit and other big cities, they can only vote once, and only while they're alive.
i sense race baiting
i think there's no product at all, and that this was put up by genuine obamatons so they could blame it on racist conservatives
"if you vote against obama, you're RACIST!"
Thanks, Maxomai--don't worry about keeping my name distanced--I can handle that no worries. A little Kos indignation would be fun.
Anon--you may be right--there are plenty of news stories about the website, but I don't know if anyone has actually received a doll yet. So far, the owners are expressing surprise that anyone would misconstrue their motives. How could you really be that unaware?
But don't you know how proud Michelle is now that her husband has been immortalized in the tradition of GI Joe or um, uh Barby?
The other day I heard Barock-and-roll-hoochie-coo refered to as a "pole turtle". The reason being is that if you come across a pole with a turtle on top, you know it doesn't belong there, you wonder what it is doing there, and who the hell would have put it there. Very fitting.
Next: The Obama Llama. Inspired by a foreign beast that lives way up high in rarefied air with few neighbors, has its nose in the air most of the time and has the nasty habits of spitting and biting, but only after you buy it.
Eeeww. Apologies, everyone. On revisiting that article about how Appalachia isn't racist, I see the writer says Obama found unexpected loyalty there to Bill Clinton, who mountaineers respect "for his rural roots, SUPPORT FOR THE SECOND AMENDMENT..."
So that Waco thing was a 51-day misunderstanding that BillyJeff and Janet Reno tried their best to stop, but the ATF and FBI just uncharacteristically refused their orders? Combat Engineering Vehicles pumping banned flammable CS gas into a home occupied by children and pregnant women was an accident, they were supposed to be in urban warfare training in Indianapolis?
No wonder Clinton was able to relax and have fun on that vacation a week later. Knew nothing about any of it.
Barack "The Pole Turtle" Obama! That's one of the funniest things I've seen here!
Thanks, Brian!
They folded!! <<== direct link to their apology.
"An Apology
We are very apologetic to all who were upset by our toy idea.
We will not be proceeding with the manufacturing of this toy.
Thank you."
I'm not surprised. It was funny while it lasted.
It's not lost on me that they posted their apology under the offending logo.
I wasn't offended. If Obama was, he should cowboy up.
He is the magic Negro of hope, change, and audacity.
I seldom mention any man's race, I seldom give a damn about it. But I dislike racists. I dislike racists of all colors, but I reserve a special antipathy toward those racists who justify by claiming their racism is justified because others may be racists.
I see no difference between David Dukes and Barack Obama, except for epidermal pigmentation.
Obviously some people have a deep problem with politicians being compared to monkeys.
Yep I think this was more of a "lets make money off the sock monkey lovin' empty promise is good enough to vote for him types.
Now...with that said, since THEY aren't going to make the thing, does that make it fair game for someone else to make them? I could use the cash, and a dollar out of a racist's pocket is one dollar they don't have to use to advance their ignorant bullshit...and another few rounds I can hoard.
Good catches, HH--and I don't know how I totally forgot about "The Smirking Chimp."
