[More]In general I have nothing against an activist going underground to mess up the enemy. In general I'm uneasy when they do it for pay at the behest of an organization, because if they get caught, "it makes us all look bad."
That said, the way this is worded, it's inconclusive. And as far as gaining valuable intelligence on the goals of the groups she infiltrated, there's hardly any secret on their targets, their tactics, and their MOs.
Now if she had come up with damaging quotes, questionable practices, names of covert donors unwilling to "come out," etc., we might have something. Mostly what I see here is a forum for antis to make a lot of noise and act like injured parties, courtesy of the subversive media co-conspirator that is Mother Jones.
Just keep in mind that penetration "at the highest levels" works both ways.

I'd take anything in MJ with a grain of salt. There is nothing smart or fearless about their opinion of the Heller case. They were apparently too afraid to verify the historical facts presented in the briefs for the pro-freedom side. (The piece also mentions the history of the South, but disarmament of blacks is not mentioned -- wow, what a surprise.)
Ultimately the Brady Center and the NRA only have the power to do what their members will do. I don't see what's so hard about discerning the plans of the opposition. All that needs to happen is a setback in government encroachment, and the anti-freedom crowd gets so upset that they accidentally tell the truth. I'm sure Breda has introduced more people to shooting than Mary Lou Sapone, and I don't have any fear that you're a double-agent, David.
I guess Sarah Brady is too offended to ever hold Wayne LaPierre's hand again at a press conference celebrating the most recent "compromise." Aww. Poor Wayne.
So soon before the presidential election, too. Almost as if the NRA wanted to shoot itself in the foot in front of the national media and build support for Obama, who'll clean up this gun rights mess with a new broom that NRA says will sweep them ALL away. So be sure to send money, lots of money.
The Dark Side says the NRA will go to "any lengths" to protect the gun industry's profits. As if supporting armed authorities breaking in to homes to check for guns (often at the wrong address and sometimes with deaths resulting) and sending people to prison for a malfunctioning rifle AREN'T "any lengths."
It's war. Only difference is, they sit back and send their government paramilitary troops, while WE are in the trenches daily.

I agree with Mr. Codrea. I'm withholding final judgement until I hear about all the things she helped us with.
My fear is we didn't get enough value to compensate for the ill-will and bad PR created by victimizing them.
That said...all she did was use her maiden name? Jeez...

Hey, she's just a domestic spy for money, so don't spend any time praising her. They only caught her because of the accounting. Now, the ones they can't find are the spies that work for principle, and I happen to know there's more than one of them. Keep digging Sarah, thar's moles in them thar donor lists.
