More Guns Are Not the Answer

Well, I dunno, Barbie.

Like its "war" counterpart, don't you think that might depend on the question?

Still, I'm willing to hear you out. What's your rationale?

Even if people were given a greater opportunity to defend themselves with guns, it would not stop people from being killed. Think about it: If someone kills another person in defense of their own life, their attacker is dead. A life would be saved, but one would be lost, too. It is not our job to determine whose life is more valuable.
OK, Barbie. I've thought about it. You've made your qualifications to offer advice on this more than clear.

And I think you win. Academia and law enforcement side with you: it's their job to determine whose life is more valuable. And ultimately, they're willing to kill anyone who defies the mandate foolish little girls like you have given them.

No shortage of Deciders.
If all life is equally valuable, then Barbie should stop taking antibiotics when she's deathly ill. No more toothpaste or mouthwash. No Raid or D-Con or ant traps or window screens. Don't kill that black widow spider in the baby's nursery. Mother Theresa is Albert Schweitzer is Benito Mussolini is Ted Bundy is Adolf Hitler is Mahatma Gandhi is Charles Manson.
The "logical" corrolary is, Barbie who cares about all these lives is no more valuable in the scheme of things than KLAUS Barbie, Nazi mass murderer.

Good guys should not decide who gets to live, we should leave that to the bad guys.

Well, that's working out well.

I've already decided that Barbie is not important enough to live. Consider it benign neglect. If she is in danger of death or injury, I will do nothing. The problem solves itself!

We aren't the ones making the decision about the relative values of lives; that would be the person who chooses to attack. We are simply defending ourselves. If he attacks and he dies; it was his choice. That may not seem "polite" to the authoriturds, but it is reality.

Did you notice the organization she supposedly represents? Students for a Democratic Society... otherwise known as SDS; a group with a rather violent legacy. A cynic would say that she's just trying to convince her future victims to remain defenceless.

No, no, I would have to say that my life is more valuable than the scum bag trying to hurt me and mine. I mean if I had to decide whose life was more valuable than I would be dead and the scum bag would live another day to take another innocent life.

And another thing, when a scum bag tries to kill me, that scum bag made the decision not me. I just ensure it comes out in my favor.

That pseudomoralistic crap about you being just as bad if you kill in self-defense as the bad guy who kills out of greed, hatred, or just because he likes to kill, doesn't fly with me, Barbie. There is a moral difference between killing in self-defense and murder, and newer translations of
the Bible makes that clear. The Commandment now reads, "You shall not murder".

John le Carre', former MI6 British intelligence official and award-winning suspense novelist was quoted here not long ago, agreeing with Barrrr-BEEEE. Said we Americans are amon the last untamed savages on the planet.
Turns out ... he nearly defected to the Russians.
Oh, not for ideological reasons, perish the thought, says he. He was just stationed in West Germany close to the border and was curious what it was REALLY like on the other side of the Iron Curtain.
And he was in INTELLIGENCE.
Explains a lot, doesn't it.
I guess he decided it wasn't a matter of geography but TIME that would fulfill his wish.

We need to provide more help for troubled teens, question the values and activities of our society that cause so many to turn to violence and make more room for those who might not fit into the conventional culture of today’s society.

You know, like government handout programs that encourage dependence, touchy-feely crap that distorts reality to young children...things like not keeping scores in games...the list (of largely democrat pushed programs Ssshhhh we can't mention that) could go on and on.

The "conventional culture" just WTF is THAT? We have no prevailing conventional culture besides one that is under attack constantly by people such as Barbi and the other do-gooders who end up causing more problems then they can imagine because they lack the simple ability to look beyond their emotionally driven need to feel important and "do something"

May the blood of every innocent victim be on your head.

defender's comment reminded me of a debate I had with an anti on facebook. He actually said that he couldn't see how his life was worth more than Hitler's. Says a lot, doesn't it?

I'm not sure what Barbie thinks about the value of her life but I can guarantee, My life's a damn sight more important than the life of the scum bag who may be trying to kill me. If somebody's wife is gonna go to sleep on a tear stained pillow it's gonna be his, not mine.
