I can explain this one in very simple terms so even brain dead understand.
The democrats have been taking over by liberal lawyers who are self serving and very greedy. Look at the track record of lawyers leading that party. Oboma and his wife are both lawyers. Bill and Hillary, lawyers. John "the creep" Edwards and his wife, lawyers. John Kerry, lawyer, Joe Biden, lawyer. Ok, Ok Algore flunked out of law school, but he tried!
No question most all of the lawyers that teach are liberals in the college system today. The one thing liberals and liberal lawyers have that binds them is other people's money. They are all about making new scams to separate people's money from them. You will find the Trial Lawyers group always votes democrat because that is the party they will support more new laws so people can be subject to shake downs by new laws and taxing scams.
Now in all fairness, there are some really effective lawyers who are Patriots that our on our side and these fine Americans have to live and work under the dark cloud of the rotten apples.
Kind of lends credence to that old joke:

I'm sure that lawyer was ready to teach at come college had the other one not moved to town, LOL!
a lot of law profs are radically liberal. in my Constitutional law class, the prof (who took his WIFES name, hyphenated after his own, of course...) told me why he was against guns.
He was driving one day, and a guy ran a stop sign. He told me, and the class, that if he had a gun, he would've "blown that guys head off." To which I replied to him, and the class, "just because YOU have homicidal ideations and want to kill people, means that YOU shouldn't have a gun, not the rest of us."
needless to say I almost didn't pass that class.
Conservatives are donating their money in other ways.

There's also various legislative acts which one lawyer of my acquaintance described as "WPA projects for lawyers." (pension reporting, etc.)
I think though, that the campaign contributions to Obama vs McCain isn't an accurate measure of RKBA understanding in the professoriate, because I can well believe that many of those who understand what the 2nd Amendment says wouldn't contribute to either. However, the overall picture is sadly accurate.
