Vigilantes

Officials (love that word) generally don't like vigilantes, that is, those who 'take the law into their own hands'. Argh! The law IS in our hands.
It is, you know.

I just wish more of us would realize that.

I don't know.... seems the "law" is pretty filthy nowadays. I don't want any of it on my hands. I'll take "rights and responsibilities" instead.

The police usually show up too late to make a difference.

If you expect to survive to the next crisis, you'd better be a vigilante.

This comes from a retired Texas peace officer.

Police are janitors that clean up and type up after the fact when they aren't conducting no-knock violations of the bill of rights.

This comes from the Brother in Law of a Texas Elected Constable.

Law, like um the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Statute law breeds like rabbits, mold, -fill in the blank-
