Wow. If they're really pissing themselves over "discovering" a couple of dinky little AKs, they want to be careful not to "discover" the M1As my friends and I carry and train with. I'd hate for them to have fear-induced aneurysms or anything...

One question comes to mind. If the AK is semi automatic why do the cops need full auto? Can't cops pull the trigger as fast as a criminal?

Oh REALLY? So the Dragunov which is both a scoped precision (Kind of) weapon that is semi automatic is less dangerous.
How about an M249? That Must be more dangerous, it's belt fed.

I don't get it, hysteria abounds and the statements of the cop about WHO is BEHIND THE GUN gets buried amid hysteria.
This just screams for a good fisking. Unfortunately, my fisking skillz are weak, and I'm at work now anyways.
I may take a shot at it while I'm at lunch, though. If no one else has done it yet.

This is why, when I go hunt Cape Buffalo, I leave the .375 Magnum and .458 Lott in the gun safe and take the AK. Superior penetration of the 7.62x39 medium velocity round.
Anybody remember those Florida cop jokers trying to put down a rogue circus elephant with .40S&W pistols and M-4s? AS I recall they basically annoyed it/bled to death cruelly over a great period of time.
IF ONLY THEY'D HAD AN AK in 7.62x39, that elephant would have been down with the first shot!
