We're the Only Ones Not Excessive Enough

Lund says he was feeding ducks at the park on Nov. 25, 2006 when officers with their guns drawn surrounded him and ordered him to raise his hands over his head. The suit claims Lund told the officers he could not raise his arms above shoulder level because of a disability but was tackled, handcuffed, dropped repeatedly on the ground and dragged across concrete. [More]
Plus, the reason he was approached in the first place is because of a vendetta by a person who had already wronged him.

Most disturbing are the assorted comments from "Only Ones" who think their brother officers deserve to be able to assault innocent 74-year-old disabled war vets and give them blood clots on the brain with impunity. No doubt they are some of those "few bad apples" we hear about, or do you think they might be more representative than the apologists care to admit?

One thing's for sure. As far as this crowd is concerned, it is "us vs. them."

The opinion is here.

UPDATE 2: Thanks to Tom in comments, we can preserve the comments by these exemplary public servants. Be sure you click on the profile links, so you can see just who it is that thinks this is a great way to protect and serve the public. I'm pasting them below anticipating the cache will go away at some point. I'm not sure if I can be legally ordered to take this down or not or if fair use and public interest will prevail, so view it/copy while you can.

Ok, why does he need $10 million? I hope he continues to get what he deserves - absolutely nothing.

I've sat where those officers are sitting, at the wrong table! It was the one of the toughest few weeks in my life. Glad the officers made it and thank you to the Judge.

Yeah, and if you sign up as a non-Cop and try to comment on this and other stories of Police mis-conduct, the Cops will tell you you are not welcome on THEIR site.

I think the "bad apples" outnumber the good ones anymore.

Keep in mind this mind set is of punk bullies and chicken shits. Who will tuck tail for all to see in due time. The cops today have a lot in common with the CRIPS, the street gang of punks. Cowards Run In Packs.
But the solid truth is, cops are: Citizen Haters.
The state of UT has some huge problems. Remember the UT state trooper who worked over the gun on the side of the freeway for no good reason on video? Now we see this from the cops and their judge. And to put the cherry on top the UT senator is showing he's a full blown RINO.

Oppps! that should have been worked over the "guy" on the side of the freeway. I have no clue why I would have put in "gun", LOL!

This engrages me. Then I read the comments below, and can't even contain outrage. Fuck the police with a rusty pole.

I left a comment on the police site that I don't think will be warmly received. Any one else?

I think we should give enough "thumbs downs" to that article to make that number negative... And I tried to leave a comment but it hasn't posted it yet.

As other writers have expressed here, I too am outraged by this travesty of justice but even more so by the cavalier attitude displayed by the comments left by the LEO's on their website regarding this story.

My advice is leave no comments and pass the link on to everyone you know to do the same and not leave any comments. The reason is to show who these people really are and how they talk to each other. This is a perfect op to do just that and we don't want to blow it by getting into a pissing contest and the site pulls the story.
This is golden so make sure as many friends see who these people are. No one can dehumanize them better then they do. So allow them to do it and show the world.

I think the responses by the LEO's on the website speaks volumes about their attitude and lack of respect for citizens. After all, aren't all citizens either "perps" or "potential perps"? All it takes to justify a beating is a denuniciation by another citizen?

Did we beat the shit out of you, sir? We're not sorry, you deserved it because we received a false report. You make sure that YOU are nice to everyone in the future so that we do not receive such reports and waste OUR time beating you into submission.

Look up "Gulag" and "Organs." Alexander Solzhenytsin thought of the cure, but too late. He was already behind barbed wire.

Not to be flip, but this "assault people who can't raise their hands" or, as we saw in Norfolk, Va., can't put them behind their back to be cuffed -- it reminds me of the Steve Martin movie "The Man with Two Brains."
Dr. Huffurrurrr is pulled over in Germany. The cop gives him a drunk test that involves juggling, walking on his hands and hopping on ONE hand while singing the Magdalena Catalina Something-biner Lupinsteiner song.
Are YOU limber and flexible, citizen?
Remember that the Norfolk woman had a note from her surgeon in her pocket and told the cop so about 35 times. He wouldn't listen and ended up Tasering her (3 jolts) in frustration.
Payback's a-comin'.

That's only going to work for them until some of us _also_ decide it is "us vs.them". At that point they will have much more trouble than they can handle.

"A submissive sheep is a find for a wolf."

(Solzhenitsyn, 1973 -- "The Gulag Archipelago", Vol. I, Part I -- "The Prison Industry", ch. 1 -- "Arrest", p. 11)

"For several decades political arrests were distinguished in our country precisely by the fact that people were arrested who were guilty of nothing and were therefore unprepared to put up any resistance whatsoever."

sorry, bob, they won't. They'll run. They'll drop their guns, bury their badges, burn their uniforms and run.

Here is what I left them, but don't expect it to stay.

"I see Curdie used all the "freebie" words in his pleading, "shuffled his feet, made a move to his waistband, oh and let's don't forget 'split-second' decision' etc". ad nauseum. Curdie is show-off coward. Period. He had two other guys pointing their deadly weapons at a man who was breaking no law. Even if he had had a weapon, he would have been breaking no law. Unless of course he had threatened someone with it. Which we now know to be false accusation. Curdie could n't have known the accusation was false upon arrival but due to all his tactical advantages he could have easily determined that if he hadn't been so thrilled at getting to hurt someone who was basically defenseless and being threatened at gunpoint by two other gang members.

It appears that those two officers were rightfully cleared and the suit against them dismissed with prejudice, good legal reasoning. As a matter of morality, well that's another thing. "We'll hold him at gunpoint, you beat up the disabled old guy", doesn't work for men, not real ones.

By the way the city should not have been freed of this suit. "A letter of reprimand" is considered non-approval. Firing is non-approval, a letter of reprimand is CYA.

So you other gang members, you keep celebrating, I know why don't you raid a rest home? Lots of people there you throw around. Just be sure you have someone along to hold guns on them."

"They'll run. They'll drop their guns, bury their badges, burn their uniforms and run."

"Until they were arrested and imprisoned in the Lubyanka, they hadn't the slightest idea what a real prison was nor what the jaws of unjust interrogation were like. (There is no basis for assuming that if Trotsky had fallen into those jaws, he would have conducted himself with any less self-abasement, or that his resistance would have proved stronger than theirs. He had no occasion to prove it. He, too, had known only easy imprisonment, no serious interrogations, and a mere two years of exile in Ust-Kut. The terror Trotsky inspired as Chairman of the Revolutionary Military Council was something he acquired very cheaply, and does not at all demonstrate any true strength or courage. Those who have condemned many others to be shot often wilt at the prospect of their own death. The two kinds of toughness are not connected.)"

Well boys the artical is no longer there but some artical aobut some cop saving a life.
I tried to tell you that we had a smoking gun and to pass it on without posting to prove whom these monsters are.

Yeah, AvgJoe, discretion would have been the better part of valor in this instance, at least in terms of allowing more to see it. However, I think commenting on it also allowed them to know that we are watching them. But that means they will just be more discrete about beating up old men next time. Part of me thinks it's not a bad thing that they know we are watching.

I tho't you were saying the cop beat his gun using the citizen's head.

Steve, I don't believe these goons care if they know we are watching them. They know they are the line of defense to protect the criminals we have running the government that are looting the citizens. So they have the blessing of the criminal parasites to do whatever the hell they want. The only danger these goons face is having a video make of them doing what they do all the time. Calling it like they do, how many times have they beat and killed citizens before being busted on video is a wonder. I'll never buy into the fact that it was a one time deal that just so happened to be caught on video.
Today's cops are monsters by far and large and they hate us the citizen. People need to see who these people really are and no one can do it better than they can by being themselves.
