We're the Only Ones Cheaper than Dirt Enough

Ammo 9mm Federal 124 Grain +P+ Hydra Shok, JHP 50 Round Box Law Enforcement Sales Only [More]
And what virtues do "Only Ones" possess that make it more desirable for them to have this ammunition instead of, say, you and me?

Let's let reviewer 5pointbadge explain--he does it so much better than I ever could:

And who among us doesn't want "a Veteran Police Officer in the boonies" shooting "melon eaters"...?

Say, you don't think that's code for anything, do you, or that the fact that he's so "veteran" means he's been deploying with this attitude for years...? Still, it's refreshing to hear him admit they "attemp[t]to use deadly force" rather than shooting to stop an attack, and that he equates this to "ensur[ing] that Justice is carried out," especially with a "bleeding heart DA" mucking up the punishment.

Well, at least we know why guys like 5pb get the Hydra Shoks and we don't. They must figure if they're the ones being vigilante...uh..."vigilent" [sic], it's cheaper than dirt-napping in some melon patch.

5pb: "My partner shot at the vehicle attempting to use deadly force, ..."

David: "Still, it's refreshing to hear him admit they "attemp[t]to use deadly force" rather than shooting to stop an attack, and that he equates this to "ensur[ing] that Justice is carried out," especially with a "bleeding heart DA" mucking up the punishment."

5pb _could_ be interpreted as saying the _vehicle_ was attempting to use deadly force. Either way, the sentence is incorrect: the _vehicle_ was not doing anything -- the driver was. And deadly force was not be _attempted_ by either the driver _or_ the partner: they were both _using_ deadly force. They just weren't very effective.

I do have to agree with your inference though: he does seem to want to "ensure justice" is carried out; his version of it at least. Too bad he didn't get hit by the car.

This and similar ammunition can be purchased (without LEO affiliation documentation) at www.ammunitiontogo.com.

I agree with anonymous; that's just Cheaper Than Dirt being obnoxious. You can buy the same ammo for less money from ammoman.com, although it tends to sell out fast when they get it in stock. I've been using Hydrashok ammo in my carry pistols for over 15 years and never had any problems buying it.

That LEO must be one of those "rare" bad apples.

CTD gets the case of the stupids every once in awhile. They put "no ammo sales to IL" in one of their catalogs a few years back but pulled it REAL fast after I informed the ISRA about it.

I'm PRO-USELESS AMMO for arrogant LEOs.

Doesn't look like, and for the record I've never been that impressed by any of the Federal Hydra stuff, you'd want to buy it anyway.

David, it seems that you now have another couple of phrases to add to "Patrol rifle" and the like:

"this ammunition...was field tested one evening..."

and

"...ensure that Justice is carried out..."

(It's the capital "J" that makes the latter viable as a Truly Gonzo Catch Phrase....kinda like Veteran Police Officer, say?)

So, what have we learned here? Melon eaters are worth shooting at simply because they are melon eaters, field testing means poppin' caps at the plebs, Justice is measured by rounds expended from Veteran Police Officers, and Only One safety is hanging on by the merest of threads, poor fellas.

It is, of course, quite possible that the suspect in question may be a Pretty Bad Guy (wow, look, I can do that Cool Name Thing too!), but hey, "law enforcement" created the concept of the "drug criminal" in the first place, and recent Only One behavior does not exactly have me ready to grant much any benefit of the doubt on claims like "attempted to run me over", "traffic stop", "further investigation", "further arrests", and certainly the way the story goes about the DA "getting him into a rehab program and probation". Sorry, but "law enforcement" has fully earned that, and this, er, testimonial about what really socks it to the peasants ain't exactly a viable counterpoint to restore credibility.

granted. however, hollowpoints will bounce right off JBT armor.

and hardball is cheaper, anyways.

Not if they are 7.62x51. . .

... or .30-06

I second the nod to ammoman and ammunitionto go. I have bought from them almost exclusively, and never had a bit of problem (apart from ammunition prices constantly rising).

I've emailed CTD telling them I've spent my last dollar with them unless they rescind this ammo sales restriction.
