Why Bloggers are Better than Authorized Journalists

It's because we bring you information the mainstream media will not. At least that's an argument I use. I may have to modify that.

Yesterday, I told you about an interview with Mike Vanderboegh appearing in the Feb. 15 issue of Gun Week. Like him and agree with him or not, that is information that should be of interest to activist gun owners. The absence of reporting on this from most quarters--particularly those quick to criticize and misrepresent Mike's positions--speaks for itself.

But David, be fair! One can't misrepresent what someone said if one presents what he said to those people one is lying to. Or in other words "Not true, but accurate" to use a Ratherism.

We don't have many real journalists in the country in the employ of media. What we have are fiction writers to untalented to be published by reputable book publishers. So they take their word skills and sell them anywhere they can. In other words, they are anybody's dogs that will hunt with them.

Hey, David--aren't we "authorized journalists" now ;-)?

Try flashing those credentials to get into an official function...

Well, I also have my UMPC stuff, too--they wouldn't dare mess with someone who has both, would they?

To be perfectly and bluntly honest, why would I bother pimping for someone I do not agree with, do not support, and have no desire to associate with in the slightest bit?

What a half-assed insinuation.

There was no insinuation, Linoge. What I stated was not only direct, but true--which you haven't refuted, only danced around with obnoxious insults. Which figures--I haven't noticed either perfection or honesty from you.

Half-assed bluntness and pimping of your own stupidity, yes.

But that's OK-- I have no desire to associate with you, either.

Linoge, thy name is Legion, the evil demon character of a Stephen King novel. Linoge, who fancies the high-tech lair of Mr. Universe, the emotionally stunted character from Firefly who marries a "love-bot" presumably because he can't get a real date. Ah, what's in a name?

What a sad, strange little man. Methinks you have a bad case of blogger envy.

You know, I would have never got that interview with Gun Week if you and Snowflake and all the other "pragmatists" hadn't come apart at the seams when you read my Madison letter back in July. Ironic, ain't it?
