This is just what I hoped for that Red's would get its fair day in court in the system that we have in place. Seemingly they have but its just better than Red's staying in business. This has lead to a different 4473 and some other changes that will keep other dealers from falling into the same paperwork trap.
No matter anyone's feelings about ATF, they have learned from this matter and the proof is there are changes in the way they do business and the buyers form they fill out.

I find it hard to believe that "F" Troop has settled.
Normally they go after people with a vengeance, until they bleed 'em dry financially.

Apparently, no abbreviations on a 4473 are acceptable. This can be laughable, given the small size of the boxes on the form. Instead of using standard postal codes that most normal people use, the name of a state must be splelled out. For most states, this not a problem, but for the place of birth box, spelling out "Massachusetts" instead of "MA" can be a problem. The BATFE believes that the two letter postal codes can lead to error.

I bought a rifle last week and the new forms no longer have you write yes or no. They have checkboxes.
My guess is this change is probably due to Red's.
