A Couple "Rational Reasons"

There is no rational reason to oppose closing the loophole. [More]
Sure there is.

I'll even give you two:

This.

And this.

The NRA A-Lister hasn't wasted much time, though I'm surprised Chuckie didn't put her on this merde as the author rather than a simple co-sponsor.

Maybe this abject betrayal will earn her a B+.

Dammit people, wake up.

Another giant step toward universal registration of guns and their purchasers and sellers. A licensed dealer at a gun show will do an instant check for any private buyer or seller if they pay the cost of the call, $5 last time I heard. Making it MANDATORY is saying "F--- you, constituents, voters, taxpayers, you extremist terrorist criminals. And remember to re-elect me! Have a nice day."
A nation of suspects, a country of masochists?

Reed said he was in the army. Whose? On which side?
The Virginia Tech teenagers died because of a Virginia state law that is dear to the hearts of self-defense eliminators, and a campus policy that Tech officials have not changed and still defend.
As long as people have hands, guns will get into the wrong hands. We'll never know how many lives were saved by guns in the RIGHT hands at the Appalachian School of Law. Killer Peter Odighizuwa saw Death staring at him from two handgun muzzles and dropped his pistol and the rest of his box of 50 rounds of ammunition. He had one magazine, I believe, two at most, and was planning to reload as people cowered in terror, then resume killing. Oops.
Our enemies know all this. Their rhetoric gets more strident, more heart-wrenching. The facts defeat them so no facts are welcome. I'm sorry about Mr. Samaha's sister. If I had been there -- I've been to Tech -- I would have moved to engage after hearing the first shot. A real short "massacre."

If Mr. Samaha's sister had been prepared to defend herself, she would probably be alive. As well meaning as any of us are who would be glad to have been there and been able to help - the final responsibility is always personal.

Each one of those students, teachers and others present that day, and every day before or since, is and was personally responsible for their own safety.

As long as people are willing to go into these killing zones, and send their clueless children, the murder will continue.

We can't wait for the anti-self defense politicians to change their minds and come to grips with reality. We must each do that for ourselves, NOW, and stop being helpless victims anywhere.

What do YOU propose to do when, not if, these insane bills are passed? What will YOU do when the troops go door to door... That is the only real question.

There is no such thing as a loophole.

That is simply loser-talk from people who feel cheated of control, after others have found a way to comply with the (usually onerous) regulations or law written to prohibit something or some action.

Lawyerese, nothing more.

I will go all post Claire Wolfe on them.. Only if they don't start at my door I will know they are coming. Tactical advantage, anyone?

can't win it, not enough will be as inflexible about it as I. By the time they are i will be long dead. But I will have taken as much company as I could arrange.

Or they could just leave me the fuck alone and obey the law.
