We're the Only Ones Bitter Enough

After police raid, bitterness replaces pride for LAPD officer [More]
Now hold the damn phone a minute. The SWAT team thought he had drugs and weapons and gang affiliations, and they called him first, and gave him 20 minutes to collect himself and the kids?

I thought the whole point of doing a dynamic entry on such raids was so evidence could not be destroyed.

Who here thinks that the 4 am wake-up experience for a non-"Only One" would have been the same?

Making examples again, among their own. "Franklin has reported several partners for perceived abuses, even telling a suspect once that his partner had unlawfully arrested him."
This is what they do to those with a conscience; officers like that will become increasingly inconvenient as the republic accelerates its decline. And we wonder why the good apples don't report on the bad ones.
I don't understand the delay either; must have come from a friend HIGH UP in the department. I suppose the fact that they couldn't hang a corruption rap on him would have "made the department look bad" after a REAL dynamic raid such as one of us would suffer.
The LONG search of the house with neighbors watching: sounds like a message to Franklin not to publish any memoirs or do any interviews. They didn't really expect to find contraband, or they would have BROUGHT some to make sure. The second part of the message is "We own you."

No Defender we don't wonder why the alleged 'good ones' don't report the bad apples. We know why. What we really wonder is what makes the police different from any other criminal gang.

And they knew it was cop's house. Else they would not have made the phone call or allowed him twenty minutes to get his kids up. Those two actions on their part connote two things. They knew for a fact that a cop would be armed and would come up shooting at a dynamic entry. Also, they knew that killing a cop in a dynamic entry who could not be proven a criminal would be bad for their image and thusly their budget and public support.

Their tactics, their strategies, their goals are exactly the same as those of the other criminal gangs. So why do we not see them as such?
