Not Necessarily a Policy Violation

Students and faculty at UCLA are stunned following a horrific attack in a campus chemistry lab in which a male student allegedly slashed the throat of a female student. [More]
Hey, as long as the blade was under 2½" I don't see what the problem could be...

"You can have pepper spray as it is for self-defense, not larger than 2.5 oz. and contains a "Warning" label."

What do you suppose is the reason for requiring a "Warning" label? Are you supposed to read the warning to the criminal?

We should ban guns.

box cutters have a 1.5" blade...well, actually less then half of that, but it's razor sharp.

What is the fascination with nunchaku? I don't see sticks and strings listed separately, so why do they become extra dangerous when combined?

Another thing. What was Wayne Finchers bond? He did nothing to anyone yet I think this guy who stabbed someone had the same bond. (was reminded due to the string=machine gun ATFU letter and got to thinking)

I don't think there should be any punishment for this act, after all, he didn't use a gun. Isn't that the only evil in the world of academia, well, that and good sense.

What we need is a complete ban on knives... knives of every caliber and color should be banned. After all... what SANE person would ever need a knife?... especially at a college or a protest near where the president will be speaking!

Careful not to step in the sarcasm. :-)
