Which doesn't stop disgusting "Only Ones" apologists in comments from absolving the cop and blaming the kid and his parents.

If I were the kid's father, the punishment would be worse than a one day suspension.
I used to testify at Dallas' Grand Juries back in the mid 70's. Things don't seem to have changed much. The Grand Jury back then would always come up with whatever decision the DA told them he wanted.
This practice isn't unique just to Dallas either. The DA's personal views and politics will determine whether an indictment is forthcoming in almost all Texas counties.
Police officers who screw up are always measured by a different yardstick the length of which is determined by whomever happens to be holding it.
In a day and age when a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich it seems questionable that this killer couldn't be true-billed.
He wasn't even a cop when he hit that kid. Just a speeding pendejo and a killer. If he had been a cop, he would have had his warning equipment blaring and flashing, he didn't. So he was just another criminal speeder and he killed someone.
I'm with Zach on this. He wouldn't need to eat his gun, I would feed him one were that my child and all he got was a day to mow his lawn.
Badge-lickers disgust me almost more than the LEOs. Almost.
