A Blow for Public Safety

Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04) announced today that the National Rifle Association of America (NRA) has announced its support for his bill, H.R. 3752, to modernize federal firearms laws to increase public safety and ensure proper protection for law enforcement officers. The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) Improvements Act of 2009 would improve current law to permit qualified retired law enforcement officers to carry concealed firearms. [More]
But all you and I get to do is watch.

I wonder if we should send them a bottle of mouthwash?

How about a bill in Congress that rats out former law enforcement people for all the shit they done while wearing a badge, instead? Might make the rooks think twice before they engage in their rape, theft, and murder under color of authoritah.

I'd vote against the bill. No only ones.

More of the collaboration with the lapdogs of tyranny that we have come to expect from the NRA. I am not surprised and you shouldn't be either.

The NRA is the largest and oldest gun control organization in the country.

And they get invited to all the dinners with all the other gun banners and ubercitizens with whom they agree that only their rights are important enough to not infringe.

I shall immediately demand my CONgresscritter act to kill this bill...of course since he's an NRA A-lister he'll just ignore my comments. (I'm an NRA lifer and cannot abide this crap)

I’m a retired police officer. This idiotic plan to make us “only ones” is BS. I’m not entitled to any considerations any other American citizen with the uninfringeable right to keep and bear arms doesn’t possess.

Mr. Woodward,
You may be the exception that proves the rule.

How about a bill that allows a free citizen to carry whenever, whatever, however he or she wants? What a concept.

Ken, that bill is in place but ignored, the 2nd Amendment.

It's not ignored by me as I get ready to go shopping.
