David, I appreciate what you do and wish that I had the time, energy, and determination that you have to keep up the pace that you are setting.

Once you set a standard of volume to maintain, such as you have endeavored to do with this site and your Examiner columns, I think it becomes a matter of honor and integrity to keep providing that volume of content, maintaining pertinence and interest to your readers while being factual and honest in your reports.

Quite a mouthful there, but I would see it as a game, a challenge to my abilities, an opportunity to expand my boundaries, but one that I would not want to engage in unless I was fully committed to that pursuit. Most of us do not consider failure to be an option, so we would either tackle such a project head on or avoid it totally. You tackled it.

That also means a LOT of fact-checking and inventive sourcing to gain fresh intel, but it results in increasing your readership through reader referrals. A LOT of time and energy, but you get a definite sense of reward.

To pull that off and be successful, David, is tough to accomplish. I’d venture to say that only a handful of us could do what you do. I can’t.

Some of us can write well, and research myriad amounts of pertinent material, but we would not deceive ourselves into believing that we would last more than a month.

I would RUN from that computer and seek refuge in long Harley rides interspersed with time at the range.

Too fast of a tempo to maintain for this good ol' boy, and I'm sure each of your readers who has a talent for writing would agree with me there.

So, on behalf of myself and all of the rest of your readers who know deep down that we can't do any more than blast down our occasional quarter mile with our comments, we congratulate you on being able to take on that coast to coast endurance race.

We are behind you, and we know in that analogy, as well as in real life, that we all will win.

WHY? 'Cuz ya got the best pit crew in the world backin' ya!

Minor correction:

I did NOT mean to include EVERYONE, just a whole lot of us that ain't got the time nor inclination ta maintain something of this scale.

Some of y'all are quite capable of maintaining a hot website, a few of you DO, and I probably read yer stuff.

My apologies for any unintended affronts. I should proof better.
