See, if stormtrooper cops didn't have to worry about getting shot because of lax AMERICAN gun laws, they wouldn't find it necessary to execute people like transit cop John Meserhle did Oscar Grant. It's the climate of fear of violence associated with private gun ownership. A preemptive strike is the omly way to send a message.
And there are plenty of people who say we shouldn't commit nonviolent misdemeanors because the police can and will come into our homes and kill us.
