In fairness to George Will, the column you reference was written in 1991. There's ample evidence that he's since changed his mind.
For example, in 2001 he wrote: "Widespread possession of guns is justified by considerations of public safety, individual dignity and healthy democracy. Public safety because law enforcement personnel can never be numerous enough to guarantee safety. (Remember this test: Call for a cop, an ambulance and a pizza. Which will get there first?) Personal dignity implies, among much else, readiness for self-defense. And the health of democratic culture is implicated in the general public's involvement in public safety. This is so because freedom is not a gift from government, and defending it is not a duty that properly responsible citizens will entirely delegate to government."

I held my nose last go-round. I've regretted it ever since. No more nose holding! Integrity must come first. Only then can I honestly resist the shackles that will soon be offered to us all.
I'm tired of the whiners who repeat the tired old adage about why so-and-so is unelectable, and so we should vote for the candidate who will destroy liberties at a lesser rate.
I've never voted for a winner in a presidential election. If I'm "throwing away my vote" it stands to reason that I should just not vote at all. Instead, I'll only vote for liberty - not for compromise.
if it is mickey mouse and obutt, i am going for mickey.. sorry.. the mear thought of four more years of under the radar is too much for me to bear... mitt CANT be as detrimental as obutt... something about cutting off your nose to spite your face?
