Flesh that Out for Us, Scott

It’s doubtful that, should an American dictator somehow try to consolidate power, citizens armed with firearms would actually be able to halt that dictator’s rise through violent resistance. The United States is a nuclear power, and our military has the most sophisticated weapons of war in the world. [More]
OK, you brought  it up, so run with it.

For instance, where would Ground Zero be?

Stupid little Borg.

I guess that guy never heard of Viet Nam? Yeah a lot of that loss was political, but so would a civil war on US soil. And the US troops fighting on the side of a hated government, where are their families going to be while all this is going on? How are US bases going to be resupplied? All by air, maybe, but they still need to patrol to hold ground right?

Just when I start thinking that these morons are utterly zoned out, I remember that some very high-ranking people in our government today regard low-yield, theater-type nuclear strikes to be an acceptable tactic, and regard limited-objective warfare as a winnable strategy. It's not such a stretch (hell, not even a tug on the fabric) to imagine such people turning that loose domestically, is it? Especially considering the 'projection' of the Left's fears.
