We're the Only Ones Driven Enough

Police cars that make sure cops don't break the law are coming in 2015 [More]
Who thinks for a moment this won't be expanded as a mandate for the rest of us?

After all, there's no shortage -- even among gun owners -- of those who are quick to point out "driving is a privilege." Their assumption seems to be, because it isn't specifically "granted" in the Constitution, it's not a right.

I can hear the swaggering overbearing holier-than-thou whiners now! How dare they be held to the same "standards" the plebeians are!

NHTSA/DoT are planning the next mandates for expanded black box tech in all vehicles.
With all vehicles now having a central network accessible with blue tooth or other comm nodes DO NOT be surprised when your car starts reporting engine operating conditions, heading and speed, number of souls on board, seatbelt use, use of vid nav screens/phone devices, etc, etc, to a central database linked to leo and transportation agencies, Imagine a malfunctioning O2 sensor triggering a reported 'out of parameter' reading, your vehicle network sending that to the cops as you pass by a roadside interrogator device (like a toll tag reader)and automated responses ranging from putting your car in limp home mode with orders to report to the nearest state inspection depot to a 'stop and confiscate said vehicle' a few miles farther down the road. Remember, you will be tracked in real time by roadside and in-pavement sensors.
