Mandalay Bay
I know how I'll be spending the day.
For right now, I've got some needed stuff to take care of first, including completing and sending in my latest GUNS Magazine article and publicizing my latest AmmoLand piece, and then I'll get to work on piecing together what I see that I think we need to focus on.
The antis are in full eye-rolling feeding frenzy. Let's not join them in mindlessness.

The latest accounts are saying he killed himself AND in the same story that the cops shot him. I wonder which is the truth...
How did he manage to get all those guns and ammo up to the room? You would think someone would notice, given the gun hysteria even in Nevada. Who brings a boat load of guns to a casino hotel?

I read earlier that he’d bought all those guns IN the hotel. I have no way of knowing if it’s true. There was no source given.
A golf club carrier would probably hold a bunch of long guns if he bought them elsewhere and took them to the hotel. I’tve never needed to try, but it’s maybe an explanation. Lots of people carry golf clubs into hotels in Vegas.
Somehow the shooter almost always ends up dead. They did it with Oswald and almost every one since then.
It sure sounded like auto fire to me, and not the high cyclic rate of an AR.
One (of many) questions is, of course, "how did he get all those guns in"? This is pure speculation on my part, but here goes:
Many articles state that he was a Vegas regular, sometimes staying for months at a time while playing poked at $100.00 per hand. Perhaps hotel staff members were so used to seeing him, and so accommodating due to the large sums he dropped, that they simply stopped paying attention to him. CowboyDan, above, also mentions a gold bag which I suppose is possible. Then again, if you regularly spend months in a hotel room the staff would not bat an eye if you brought along a goodly number of suitcases, tote bags, and so forth. Given all of this, I do not find it terribly surprising that someone was able to get the guns into the room.
I have absolutely NO info on this, but my suspicious nature wonders if this was some sort of false flag. Again, absolutely no hard info on that front - merely the suspicion that, per the usual, we are not being told everything about this incident.

I guess that was a silly question. :) My mental image was of a man carrying a big machine gun on a tripod, in his arms as he rode the elevator up 32 floors. I have only stayed in a hotel a few times, and only with one overnight bag. Don't play golf... so I really didn't know what I was talking about. It happens. :)
The big problem, as I see it in the calmer light of a new day... how can we ever know the truth about what actually happened, who this man was, or even if he was involved at all? Dead men seldom tell tales...
And David is very correct... it is important not to indulge in mindless speculation based on the KNOWN inaccuracy, inconsistency, plain out and out lies of both official and "news" sources. We have absolutely no reason to trust any of it.
And I'm very eager to read David's analysis of this whole thing.
