We're the Only Ones Letting No Good Deed Go Unpunished Enough

Police tow Maryland man's car after stopping to help victims in fatal crash [More]
I believe we'd see less of this crap if "reporters" made it standard practice to include officer names in their stories -- and if there were a requirement that departments can't withhold them.

Plus you have to figure he is going to get hit with a tow charge and a fee to the impound lot for every day his vehicle is held.

Bet the cop didn't even give the dude a kiss.

I would've been asking to see the statute that the cop's action is based on. I bet it doesn't exist. I had a similar situation where I am, but the cop actually looked up the statute and my car would have been towed IF it had been the one involved in the accident - but since it wasn't I was allowed to go on my way. I bet the cop in this case couldn't read plain English and confused the witness' car with the one involved.
