As Long as I'm Doing Memes Today

[More and More]
I was forwarded the  David Hogg version with the suggestion that someone ought to redo it with Beto. The problem with the Hogg meme, as the latter-day national socialists argue back, and the gun-grabbers, national socialists in their own right, are happy to exploit, is:
Unfortunately for those who would like to link Hitler and the National Socialists with gun control, the entire premise for such an effort is false. German firearms legislation under Hitler, far from banning private ownership, actually facilitated the keeping and bearing of arms by German citizens by eliminating or ameliorating restrictive laws which had been enacted by the government preceding his: a left-center government which had contained a number of Jews.
What's missing from that "Gotcha!" rejoinder is the totalitarian monstrousness of utterly disenfranchising a segment of society which was not homogenous with the ideology and agenda of the rulers. And for the record, no matter what linguistic contortions the deniers go through, Hitler "was, at heart, a left-winger."

Hitler didn’t create Germany’s gun registration lists — he was just the first to use them oppressively. The previous “trustworthy” regime created them, after which they were available to any tyrant who might come to power afterward. That’s what happened in Germany, and is precisely why we won’t allow it here, no matter who proposes it.
