Another Notch for Mike Lupica

We may never know everything that happened between Zimmerman and Martin... [More]

Which is proof that Mike Lupica doesn't know everything that happened now, but he still presumes to dictate we all be like "New York, which has the toughest and best gun laws in the country."

Of course he knows better. But like all fanatics, if he faces the truth, he'll have to face truths about himself.

Better to blame "America's gun culture."

Nice to see ol' Mike is still posting Gravity's Rainbow polls. What a dishonest wretch.  And the New York Daily News lets him get away with it--hell, they love it.

In Memoriam

If Bloomberg is going to be remembered for something, it ought to be that, for gun laws as tough as there are anywhere. [More]

Yeah, as tough as nails.

Mike Lupica can't seem to work out the disconnect between Furious Mike Paradise and a "terrible, bloody day."

Where our intrepid government watchdog is going with this, of course, is cheerleading for Bloombergian disarmament throughout the Republic.

It's his M.O.

UPDATE: I also ought to call this out from ths story:
Sunday, the Bronx cop said, "You know what would be pleasurable? About 8,000 more police on the street."

I'll just bet. Also check out the "Gravity's Rainbow"* poll.

A Backhanded Gift

“Blaming the ‘gun culture’ for a criminal act is a calculated insult to the tens of millions of peaceable American gun owners who own firearms and do not engage in violence,” responded David Codrea, whose blog is called “The War on Guns.” [More]
And why would I say that?
[F]undraising. The bigger the controversy, the more specific the appeals for cash.
Really? Can anyone link us to even one fundraising appeal from anyone in "the gun lobby" that mentions the story this guy is talking about?

Certainly not from me. See that "In Lieu of a Tip Jar" click-through in the left sidebar?

Hell, I'm lucky to get readers here to even click on an Examiner link, let alone pass it on. I can't imagine how dismal a prospect it would be if I solicited for funds.

Oh, sure, once in a while I'll tell you about a book I think you might enjoy, or ask to help out with a specific case like Wayne Fincher (who, incidentally, I sent a check to before asking anyone else)...but if that was my strategy for the Mike Lupica story, wow, did I fail.

Sorry, Ken Newton. There were no "high fives" coming from me.

I guess a salaried "Authorized Journalist" might not understand that some people actually believe in what they profess?

Still, thanks for the mention. You spelled the name right.

Next time, though, could you include a link to my GRE page? I could sure use a few more pennies rolling in!

Money money money....

Speaking of Impotence...

I don’t have the words to describe the cowardice of Congress or the depravity of the gun lobby, which conspired to kill the assault-weapons ban. I can’t explain the apparent impotence of President Obama who vowed to “use whatever power this office holds” to convert the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School into commonsense common good. [More]
Indignant little hissy-fitter, isn't he?

Stamp your feet now, Ron. You and Mike Lupica.

Anti-gun males. Ain't they a scream?

Think of It as an Admission

President Obama and Mitt Romney are too afraid to take on the National Rifle Association because they fear it will hurt their chances for victory in November's election [More]
So, Mike Lupica, you wretched Fourth Estate Fifth Columnist, that doesn't tell you anything? Like maybe a critical mass of people are no longer buying the swill that dominates your "profession"?

I wouldn't be too hard on them, though--you don't "have a plan to prevent the next senseless gun-related slaughter" either, although I'm sure mass shooters counting on citizen disarmament to ensure their successful media triumphs appreciate such efforts.

God Forbid We Examine Ourselves

“There is no easy solution to this problem,” Kelly said Sunday, “absent a comprehensive anti-gun strategy throughout the country, as opposed to a pro-gun strategy. In New York, we have every law we need on the books. The problem isn’t this state, it’s all the other ones.” [More]
Mike Lupica once more bends and spreads for police state authority with his trademark obsessive gusto.

Bigger than Ever

And when he comes back, whenever he comes back, he will be bigger than ever. [More]
It doesn't surprise me that the paradox of the world's top professional athlete being a chronic cheater isn't what sports urinealist Mike Lupica puts his focus on.

Of course, we've already seen that when it comes to exhibiting higher principles, this hack fails the test.

The ol' "pH Factor" at work.

That "we" may be admiring and rewarding the wrong people doesn't even enter into things, does it?

Would you like some bread to go along with that circus?

The Great Outdoors

Another Fudd for Obama says anybody worried about Barry and gun control is a paranoid. [More]

There's something about "sportswriters." That's how Keith Olbermann got his start. And we've revisited Mike Lupica's subversion ad nauseum... And don't get me started on David Petzal...
