Prove You're WORTHY of Rights

Possessing even a single illegal gun should be classified as a violent felony that carries guaranteed prison time, unless the defendant can show proof of being an otherwise upstanding citizen.
Yes. None of that "innocent until proven guilty" tomfoolery in New York! And none of that "right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" nonsense, either!

I , for one, am damned glad the New York Daily News is there to act as champion for our rights and watchdog against governement abuse.

A key provision would make it a felony to possess as few as three guns, down from the present 20. But why stop at three? Possessing even a single illegal gun should be classified as a violent felony that carries guaranteed prison time, unless the defendant can show proof of being an otherwise upstanding citizen......

The Framers have GOT to be rolling over in their graves!
Why aren't there any Anti-Dumbass Laws? Can someone explain that to me?
If I'm an American citizen, and I have the wherewithall, I can own a MILLION guns! (Keep waiting for the Powerball!).
Unconstitutionally disarming citizens to 'protect' police is in direct contradiction to the intent of the Founders.
Why doesn't this author move to Peking where his rhetoric is readily agreed with!

David C. I have an idea and I would value your opinion.

Since Pataki and Bloomberg and their intellectually challenged minions place a higher value on a law enforcement officer's life, surely it must follow that the products of those lives are more valuable than that or other citizens. Could we find some way to start a movement or plant an idea or make it public knowledge that we have asked and do petition these officials to honor their own proposal by trading salaries with them? In other words if a LEO's life is more valuable, compensate him accordingly. Cops would each receive the salary of the governor and the mayor of NYC and those worthies would absorb a decrease in their salaries to that of a law enforcement patrolmen.

Of course, they would need to raise taxes to make this work because there are many more cops than there are governors or mayors, but as they keep telling us, we owe these brave men and women a debt we cannot pay, but this would make a Hell of a start.

Whaddaya say?

Actually, I think if you took quotes from news articles about administration officials negotiating with police unions, you might get a good glimpse of what they really think of them...and quotes from politicians calling for blue ribbon panels after police britality incidents, and especially from certain "community" representatives...

I know that and you know that, but I would like to see them make that case to poor stupid constituents that think these dregs are doing it with good intentions.

Let them explain why they will eschew positive reinforcement of their message, but choose the negativity of abuse of all other citizens.
