A car prowler got away Tuesday night with the badge and gun of a Clackamas County deputy. There must be something about that superior training the "only ones" receive that causes stuff like this to happen. In all my years of gun ownership, I'd have never thought to leave my stuff sitting in my unattended car for all the world to see. I guess that's the difference between us ordinary people and professionals...
The sheriff's office says the off-duty deputy parked outside a dance studio on Lake Drive in Milwaukie. She went inside on personal business, apparently leaving her purse, containing her badge, gun and other items, in plain view inside the car.

Interesting comment about this deputy over at KABA:

I live in the county and and I don't know whether to laugh or stand here slack jawed. It is bad enough when this happens once but this is the SECOND time this has happened to the same Deputy, by chance it happened two years ago in the same month. And only COPS should have guns,GEEEZ!!!!
If someone knows anything about this and can help verify if it's true, please chime in...
Thus you see why they are the "Only Ones" and are considered elite. This level of dimwittedness is not readily achievable by the ordinarty citizen. Arrogance and low-wattage brain power of this caliber is only attainable by professionals after years of Special High Intensity Training. Hereafter referred to as S.H.I.T. Officers are noted for their employment of this valuable ASSet.
What's the deputy's name? Let me guess, they wouldn't release my name either if I "lost" my gun.
David -- pro-gun found a good link to the story.

And no -- they sure wouldn't release the name of this dimwit.
KATU in Oregon reports on it.

They also mention the time two years ago when it happened to her. When will she learn?
