A distraught former student armed with a bat and chain sent Hopkinton High students running for cover yesterday when he stormed the school.And all anyone there could do--including the adult teachers and administrators--was hope that "official" men with guns would arrive in time to keep any of them from being hurt.

Why am I not surprised that this happened in a state like Massachusetts? When I was in school, if someone had tried this stunt, he would have been removed on a stretcher.
Was he surrounded by clouds? How does someone 'storm' a school with a bat and a chain?
Was he whistling a tune from West Side Story? Or singing, how he once knew a girl named 'Maria'?
The book 'A Nation of Cowards' by Jeffrey R. Snyder comes to mind.
