It comes in the form of a gun, that when place in an airport x-ray machine, is nearly invisible to the human eye.
Fontoura said only the steel barrel was visible. O.K., I give up. How does it penetrate a bulletproof vest by "firing so fast"? I thought penetration had to do with the velocity, mass, and hardness of a particular bullet, not whether multiple bullets hit it rapid-fire.
Hmmm...this looks like one of those ar-15 pistol clones. While a .223 would penetrate a light vest, I fail to see what all the paranoia from ABC is all about. As Xavier stated, the gun does not use ammo that is invisible so this gun is little more than a plastic and steel club (without ammo).
My advice, look at the pictures in the article. Also any moron in the TSA that does not recognize the barrel on this gun has absolutely NO business working in airport security.
what do they mean, "nvisible" There's a whole bunck'a stuff I can seein that picture besides the gun barrel! I'll bet the fool looking at it just didn't know what he was looking at!
I guess they were desperate to find something else to be scared of.
It's just such a shame that the photographic evidence clearly contradicts the "facts" of the story. Especially the penultimate picture- the outline of the entire weapon is plainly visible.
Modern journalism- never let the truth get in the way of a story.
Saw this on another gun board. It's a Bushmaster Carbon 15.
Yes, lots of it is 'unobtrusive' on X-ray. Just plain dumb luck if the screener notices the barrel, magazine springs, ammo, bolt, bolt carrier, frame rails, firing pin, etc..
And isn't it amazing how a rifle round will, in fact, go right through a vest that's only rated for pistol rounds?
