A Great Way to Put Someone's Life in Danger

A man allegedly walking around an East San Jose home with a gun prompted San Jose police to surround the house for about an hour this morning while detaining the man and securing five other tenants.

San Jose police Sgt. Nick Muyo said police never found the alleged weapon and cannot say for sure whether the man ever held it. Either way, he did not threaten the other residents, Muyo said, and was therefore not arrested.
Just call in a tip from a pay phone, and society's hysterical anti-gun reflexes will take over from there...

Just what law were these morons enforcing?

Sounds like breaking and entering, unlawful detention, assault with deadly weapons, inciting to panic, disorderly conduct and a lot of other crimes committed by the cops, who had no justification for being there.

Or is it now illegal to carry your own gun in your own home in California? If not, then even if he had had a gun, they had no business there.

If I recall, something like this happened in Jolly Olde England a while back. Seems a subject was fatally gunned down for carrying a deadly table leg.

Sounds like the local police have never read the fourth amendment of the Constitution.

Paranoia will destroy ya! Am ashamed to admit that San Jose was my birthplace. (We used to call it 'the pit' as far back as 1975).
Thank God I was able to get out in 81'!
