After I got parked at the end of a jungle runway,in VN,about a click and a half from a firebase, with no radio,no extra ammo,and no extra water,at the tender age of 19,I figured out that I better watch out for my own ass,and stop waiting for Uncle Whiskers to remember. Later, I read about Wake Island, Corrigedor,Bataan,and the USS Indianapolis. Yup, Uncle reaaaallly cares a lot about his brave warriors. Lessen they get captured,surrounded, or in some kind of trouble. I used to be disgusted, now,I'm only amused.

I can't tell you how many times I have heard from liberals that it is paranoid to prepare for disasters. How "it" will never happen (whatever it may be, riot, flood, disease, etc.) Further, if "it" does happen the Gov. will be there to bail our sorry buts out of trouble.
I guess a bigger cluebat is needed.
Last time Americans were in a major disaster, protecting yourself got you tackled on national television by the fuzz.
