UK Council Demands Tree Control

Council officials have written to the chamber of trade saying the trees are a potential hazard because their sharp leaves could cause injuries to eyes or faces.
And we all know free-willed sovereign individuals are just too stupid and inept to coexist with trees without government edicts to guide them.

"What if one of those leaves caught a child in the eye, for example? It is a little bit like keeping tigers: they are beautiful to look at but you wouldn't want them wandering the streets."

That's a great comparison...tigers and palm trees.

Evidently, jason m, the Great and Wise Leader Colin Charlwood must have been referring to the dreaded Tiger Palm...

You can see a closeup of this monster here, and a video of a tiger and palm tree mating to create more of these abominations here.

Nick Bye, Torbay council's elected mayor, said he did not think there was any risk from palm trees unless "you were in the Caribbean and a great big pineapple fell on your head".

O. M. G.

Pineapples don't grow on palm trees. They don't grow high enough to fall on any part of you above the waist. They aren't even a major crop in the Caribbean.

Gotta go wrap my head in duct tape...
