A Republic, If You Can Keep It

Three quarters of Americans can correctly identify two of Snow White's seven dwarfs while only a quarter can name two Supreme Court Justices, according to a poll on pop culture released on Monday...

Respondents were far more familiar with the Three Stooges -- Larry, Curly and Moe -- than the three branches of the U.S. government -- judicial, executive and legislative.
I'll bet they all have opinions about "gun control," too...

Once a republic is lost, can it be peacefully regained?

reason - Can't remember where I read it....but NO!

Better to stop the perversion in its tracks.

Then I guess it's just a matter of deciding when it's truly "lost". Obviously we've already drifted away from what the founders inteneded. Where is the point of no return?

When it becomes totally unbearable? See the discontent mounting, but not sure its reached the boiling point. I really don't know bud. The lack of unity is the most frustrating aspect, IMO.

Agreed David, the lack of unity is amazing! Most people tell me I am a paranoid, tin foil hat wearing lunatic when I try to talk to them about the encroaching police state, how the war on some drugs actually increases crime and our failed foreign policy.

The minions who started this downfall, and the ones continuing the perpetration of it, know exactly what their doing. Think it was FDR who really got the ball rolling with the 'state of declared national emergency' in 1933. Although he was probably just a puppet with his strings being pulled. But, we've been in that 'national emergency' every since. And that's when gun bans and arbitrary rule by the courts started. Not to mention that we were in debt, again. The French and Dutch have bailed us out a number of times, and we would pay them back. Yet we have kept falling back into their debt with each war we involved ourselves in.

WWI nad WWII were, more than likely, 'interest' payments.

My guess is old royal european 'big-money' are calling the shots. Which would explain why both Clinton and the Bush's have royal ancestry. That's just a guess, mind you - no conclusive evidence.

Actually, there is a striking similarity...
