Strike Two...

Women in one of Colombia's most dangerous cities have taken the rampant violence on with the only weapon that may defeat guns and ammunition: the power to deny their men any sexual relations.

Dozens of women in Pereira have joined the so called "crossed legs strike," hoping to help the local government's disarmament effort.

One gang member's girlfriend said withholding sex was proving a powerful incentive. "The boys listen to us. When we close ourselves off a bit they listen to us. If they don't give up their weapons, then we won't be with them," Margarita told AP Television.
Yeah, that'll work.

We all know how much gang culture respects women, especially the classy prizes who avail their bodies to violent street thugs.

Tell me this strike won't be over by the second or third strike...

Multiply the number of women in the crossed legs strike by one beating each and the strike is over. Some may even be beaten to deatn. But what the Hell? At least nobody is doing the thugs any violence.

Is it just me, or does that seem like a really stupid policy?

Aristophanes would be proud to know that the comedy Lysistrata is still being performed 2400 years after it's inception.

But 2400 years ago it only a burlesque comedy.

Straightarrow is right. Burlesque is really stupid policy.
